Florida foliage: Tiny purple bellflower

In Florida this native flower is known as the bellflower. It’s “real” name is Campanula, which actually means little bell in Latin.

Surfing the net (old 90s term), I found many people calling this plant a weed. I found a great quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson that sums up my feelings about this. A weed is “a plant whose virtues have yet to be discovered.” Couldn’t have said it better myself. That’s why he’s famous and I’m not.
