  1. You’re right, JoAnn, most inspiring. It just goes to show that difficulties arise for everyone, regardless of position or status. To overcome them requires a mental strength rivalling Johnson’s physical prowess.

    Nor is it a simple matter of just waking up one morning and deciding not to be depressed (would that it were that simple). No, those who struggle require respect and patience, among other supports.

    • Yes, I think admitting depression or other stuff like that would be especially difficult for tough guys… like my dad who would’ve sooner sawed off his own leg than admit he had any mental health issues.
      Being in the limelight just makes it that more difficult although as more people come forward to talk about it it’s becoming less so thankfully! 🙂
