Let’s all start the year off right by absorbing as much wisdom as we can. Consider the real life application of each nugget of knowledge that comes along. Don’t underestimate any lesson… the birds, bees, cats, doggies and gerbils all have something to teach us, just like tomatoes, potatoes and stalks of celery do as well.

This is by no means a sales pitch or sermon of any kind. For those unfamiliar, I offer the following reading suggestions. Limiting youself to just one, in my opinion, is a disservice to your own mind.
Tao Te Ching – Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao by the late Dr. Wayne Dyer. I read a verse or two each day, along with Dr. Dyer’s commentary, so I had plenty of time to consider the teachings.
You can also access the Tao Te Ching online here.
The four canonical gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Pay particular attention to the direct teachings of Jesus. No matter your religious convictions or your doubt of the bible’s authenticity, there are essential lessons to be plucked from these pages.
I hope you have a great New Year!

I like this quote about how nature doesn’t hurry but all the shit gets done anyway. I might bookmark this and read all these things.

It’s nice to have reminders of the important things in life. It’s so easy to lose sight of such things in the calamity of the world!

In color, both disjunctive and harmonious; with words, softly written with a touch of humor, you have helped usher me into the New Year, JoAnn. May truth, goodness and beauty be your constant companions throughout the passage of this year, my friend.

Such eloquent and beautiful words! Thank you for the well wishes for the New Year… heaven knows I can use it. I pass the same wishes onto you my new friend and to the rest of the world.

JoAnn, this is what my late husband’s grandmother, who lived to be 102, used to say, “May all your dreams and wishes come true!” Happy New Year! 🙂

I like that. A very hopeful thing for your grandmother to say. And 102, wow!
