Isn’t it a terribly odd thing that midnight Wednesday comes on Tuesday night… Thursday at midnight will then of course immediately proceed Wednesday night.
Isn’t this just one more example of the screwy world we live in?
It’s the light and dark thing that messes everything up. Sundown to sunrise is one night so Wednesday at midnight should seem to come on Wednesday night… since it’s all the same night.

Whatever! When you have awesome midnight snacks and cute/silly cats who truly cares! My favorite midnight snack is pie… nearly any kind will do. I wanted to get some more delicious ideas for midnight snacks though.

Interesting to note, when I was searching out ‘best midnight snacks’ on the net, most of what came up was ‘healthy midnight snacks.’ Jeesh… what an assumption! Would it work to search ‘unhealthy midnight snacks’? Seemed sorta lame so I decided to use ‘midnight snack ideas’. Slightly better but mostly more of the same. I have to admit though, some of those healthy snacks looked pretty good. Not all healthy things are necessarily bad mind you.

If you’ve never tried Jacques Pepin’s Oeufs Jeannette (Eggs Jeannette) then you simply must if you’re an egg lover. It’s basically deviled eggs but of course 1000 times better!
As previously mentioned, pie is my favorite midnight snack… pecan or blueberry work well… but check out this recipe for Coconut Caramel Cream Pie!

Congrats, Joanne, on recognizing midnight as a construct, one suited more to broad purposes, such as setting a mood, or to naming a blog, than it it to distinguishing itself from the day’s 1,439 others. I always have found that 12:00AM rarely changes things, mood-wise. For me, a day’s tenor. bad or good, usually stretches from evening to evening.
Not surprising, really, Google set you looking for healthy snacks. Far from functioning at random, that search engine takes into account your prior browsing history (among other factors) and feeds it into its vaunted algorithm. Then, hey presto, off you go in the direction Google’s computers select.
For example, if I were to type “midnight,” don’t you reckon “Midnight Harmony” will be among the results? I might not get that far, even, as “midni…” could be enough to launch it.
Oh, enthusiastic agreement on avocado toast! You’re gonna like one of the entries planned for later.
Now, about that other food…

Hmm, not sure how I got the algorithm set to healthy. The algorithm is getting me all wrong! Dag nab it!
Yes the avocado toast seems quite delicious… funny I love avocados and I love toast but I never had the thought to eat them together like that… seems like such a natural conclusion to come to. The brain never works quite like it’s suppose to. ☹️

Yeah, brains have real attitude problems. Of course, how many innovations and other creativities arise from the brain straying from its proscribed path?
Like you, I never knew toast and avocado were a “thing” until the recipe attracted notice. Unlike you, I had sampled the combination before, on a whim, but I never thought they were meant to be together until one of the cooking magazines ran with the idea.
It did me good to see to see the notion in print, though I hardly needed writers in one of the glossies to provide validation. It was nice, sure, but my self-esteem hardly rose with it.

You’re just making me laugh these days… not a bad thing!
I may have come close to avocado toast. There’s a thing I was hooked on for a while. It was sorta like a grilled cheese but you used roasted portabellas, sliced avocados and tomatoes. It was super good 😋🥑

Haha, you have got me completely confused now, what is what night and why … 😉
The animals are soooo cute … make my heart melt.
And the coconut ccream pie is right up your lane I presume. But, what is one cup half and half? half and half what? That must be an insider ingredient. 🙂
I will refrain from looking at the other recipes, I am fat enough … cheers from Denmark

No half and half in Denmark?? Basically it’s a mixture of half cream and half milk… most people opt for this choice to cut down on the fat content. I had no idea that this was mostly a U.S. thing til I looked it up.
Hope you’re doing well!

Yes, thank you, we are fine. And thanks for clarifying. All countries seem to have their own typical stuff it seems, like in the UK they have their self raising flour, in Germany they have the ready mixed sugar for jam and jelly, and you have half and half. No Dane would use half and half in cakes or cooking, no Madam, pure cream please, and real butter …. 😉 😀 But in their coffee they take mini-milk, the hypocrites … 😀

Real butter and cream works for me! Mini- milk, haven’t heard of that one myself. 🙂🥛

Mini-milk has less fat than skimmed milk … 😉 It does not make much difference in a coffee, it just gives it an icky colour.

I love the caramel colour it gets from real cream … 😉 🙂

Oh yes, real cream all the way for me!
Less fat than skimmed milk… that sounds like our 0% milk, we also have 1% but I think that’s the equivalent of skimmed milk. He he, what a conversation… I just go with whole milk myself 😋
